Carroll Lee Chapman

May 22, 1950 - September 3, 2017

Carroll Lee Chapman, age 67, of Hodgesville, died at his home on Sunday, September 3, 2017. He was born May 22, 1950, a son of the late Clyde C. and Goldie R. McCartney Chapman. He was united in marriage on December 22, 1973, to Elouise “Susie” Howes Chapman who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Carroll Jr. “C.J.” and wife Jennifer Chapman and Michael Chapman, both of Hodgesville; two daughters: Kimberly and husband Steve Adkins of Branchland, WV and Tasha and husband Chris Leary of Virginia; twelve grandchildren: Jacob Chapman, Levi Crites, Garret Crites, Jacob Adkins, Braden Adkins, Krissa Chapman, Courtney Leary, Camberly Leary, Sienna Crites, Rylee Chapman, Kaitlyn Chapman, and Jolene Chapman; six brothers: Clarence and wife Linda Chapman of Hackers Creek, Lawrence and wife Shannon Chapman of Boise, Idaho, Roy and wife Louise Chapman of Grand Camp, Donald and wife Terry Chapman of Fairmont, Marvin and wife Linsay Chapman of Adrian, and James Chapman and fiancée Tara of Big Bend; five sisters: Mary Reed of Tenmile, Flora and husband Eugene Tharp of Buckhannon, Karen and husband Andy Heater of Hodgesville, Della Chapman of Hodgesville, and Geraldine and husband Robert Young of Alaska; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Chapman, one son-in-law Jason Crites, one brother-in-law, Donald Reed, and two sisters-in-law: Wanda and Mary Chapman. Carroll was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He worked for many years in a tire shop and was a former logger and farmer. Friends will be received at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Buckhannon on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, from 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Ron Hinkle officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Bend Cemetery.
